Living Southampton

Education & Learning

Southampton offers a variety of opportunities to learn for both children and adults. Our education services for children are continually improving, with additional schools being rated as outstanding by Ofsted. Our schools are undergoing exciting change as they work together to raise all teaching standards in order to transform children’s lives and life chances.
Our latest Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 4 results reveal a rise in pupil attainment across the city, and we know that great leadership, vision and teaching standards are central to this.
Learning opportunities don’t just stop when you leave school. You can start an apprenticeship and learn skills while you earn. Many learning providers in the city offer courses to adults and the wider community, so if you want to learn new skills to help you get a job, or you want to explore and develop your creative side, or just keep fit and healthy, then there is likely something available for you.
