9 more reasons to visit Southampton over the bank holiday weekend!
As well as the nine cruise ships passing through our port over the August bank holiday weekend, there are at least nine other reasons why you should visit Southampton this bank holiday weekend...

1. August Fair
The traditional bank holiday fair will be returning to The Common from 27-31 August, 1-9pm Thurs-Sun, 10am-9pm Mon.

2. Dine Alfresco
Take yourself off for a dining treat and visit a wide range of restaurants and bars around the city, catering for the most discerning palettes. Stop for a bit and enjoy the sights and sounds of Ocean Village, or dine alfresco in the hustle and bustle of metropolitan Oxford Street.

3. Shop Till You Drop
Visit Southampton’s wonderful range of shops, from the high street retail outlets in West Quay, to the quieter boutique shops around Bedford Place – you’ll be spoilt for choice and may even find some sale bargains.

4. Walk The Walls
Follow the ancient city trail through Southampton's old town and Walk the Walls - one of Britain's most complete set of Medieval walls. You may even find the perfect vantage point to see the cruise ships coming and going.

5. Hotel Offers
Take advantage of the August bank holiday hotel deals at Chilworth Manor, with dinner, bed and breakfast from £99 per room, based on two people sharing. Or stay for a night at Highfield House from £59 for a single or £69 for a double room, bed and breakfast.

6. World Market
Get down to the Bargate for the regular Sunday world market and pick up some international goods, foods and crafts.

7. Mayflower Theatre - LazyTown - The Pirate Adventure
Hot on the heels of the phenomenally successful first ever 'LazyTown Live!' comes a brand new show that's guaranteed to make super-heroes of you all. Get ready for star-jumps, power-moves, laugh out-loud fun, sing-along songs and dancing in the aisles when 'LazyTown Live! – The Pirate Adventure' sails into the Mayflower Theatre.

8. 9 Great Parks To Visit
On a hot and sunny August bank holiday, nothing could be better than a walk through one of the nine parks in or close to the city centre. If you take a trip to Weston Shore, you may even see one of the passing ships!

9. Art Gallery - 'The Truth About Faeries'
The wee small folk will be flying from Southampton City Art Gallery on 13 September, so this weekend is the perfect time to catch a glimpse of this sensational exhibition.
